William Morris clients take home four Country Music Association Awards

WMA clients win 4 CMA Awards. Rascal Flatts won "Vocal Group of the Year" for the sixth consecutive time. Brad Paisley took home "Male Vocalist of the Year" as well as "Music Video of the Year" for "Waitin' on a Woman" featuring Andy Griffith. Gerry House won "Broadcast Personality of the Year (Large Market)."

 

Taylor Swift set to perform on "The Grammy Nominations Concert Live! - Countdown to Music's Biggest Night"

Celine Dion, the Foo Fighters, B.B. King, John Mayer, and 50th GRAMMY nominee Taylor Swift are the first performers announced for "The Grammy Nominations Concert Live!! — Countdown To Music's Biggest Night."

The one-hour special — which also will celebrate the grand opening of the Grammy Museum at L.A. LIVE — takes place live on Wednesday, December 3, at NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE, and will be broadcast on CBS.

 

WMA Country clients tour in Australia

Taylor Swift is the latest Country star heading Down Under for a tour. Chugg Entertainment and Rob Potts Entertainment Edge announced her first Australian outing this week. Starting March 5, 2009 she will make stops in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, as well as at the Country Music Channel’s CMC Rocks The Snowys Festival.

Brooks & Dunn are also touring Australia in 2009, and will be joined by Dierks Bentley.

 

Gone Country is back for a third season

The third season of the show is produced and hosted by WMA client, John Rich.

Celebrities competing for country music stardom this time around include musicians George Clinton and Sheila E., former Miss USA Tara Conner, singer Taylor Dayne, Monkee lead vocalist/drummer Micky Dolenz, actor Richard Grieco and "American Idol" first season runner-up Justin Guarini. The show will air on CMT in January.

 

WMA Artists Receive 4 American Music Award Nominations

The live awards broadcast will take place at the NOKIA Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, November 23rd, airing at 7 PM CT on ABC. In addition to her nomination, Taylor Swift was named a performer on the all-genre show.
