KAPLAN & LIPSTONE CO-HEAD NETWORK TELVISION (November 5, 2002, Beverly Hills, CA) Aaron Kaplan and Greg Lipstone have been named Co-Heads of Network Television at the William Morris Agency, it was announced today by Jim Wiatt, William Morris President and Co-CEO, and Sam Haskell, Executive Vice President and Worldwide Head of Television at William Morris. Kaplan and Lipstone will join the leadership team of William Morris Television along with Haskell and Mark Itkin, Worldwide Head of Syndication, Cable and Non-Fiction Programming. They will report to Haskell. "Aaron and Greg have displayed tremendous leadership during their careers at William Morris and have greatly contributed to the overall success of the division," Haskell said. "By positioning them as Co-Heads, we can now unify our leadership approach and better focus the message between the agency and our outside partners at the networks and studios." Added Wiatt: "William Morris Television is in the midst of another banner year. With Aaron and Greg now part of the leadership team, we're even stronger and better positioned to respond to the needs of our clients and buyers." Prior to this promotion, Kaplan was Senior Vice President, responsible for packaging and staffing writers, directors and actors for series television. He has also specialized in crossing television writers into theatrical motion pictures and bringing motion picture writers into television. His work in this area includes selling Darren Star's ("Sex and the City") put pilot to NBC, setting up Rob Cohen's ("XXX," "Fast and the Furious") overall deal at 20th Television and setting up Steve Pink's, D.V. DeVincentis' and Pat O'Neill's ("High Fidelity," "Grosse Pointe Blank") overall deal at Touchstone Television. Lipstone was Senior Vice President and Head of Network Packaging and Creative Development for the Television Division, with the responsibility of coordinating network television packaging, including comedy, drama and reality programming, as well as specializing in William Morris' international television business. He has packaged "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire," "Queer as Folk," "Dog Eat Dog," "Weakest Link" and ABC's upcoming "I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here" for his clients. Lipstone and Kaplan have been involved in the packaging of a long roster of television shows including "Queen Supreme," "Roswell," "Undressed," "Do Over," "The Grubbs," "Off Center," "Baby Bob," "Celebrity Boot Camp" and "Malcolm and Eddie." Added Itkin: "Aaron and Greg will add a positive new element to our leadership team as we coordinate our internal resources and approach the always-evolving marketplace." Kaplan entered the William Morris mailroom in Beverly Hills in 1991 and was promoted to agent in the Television Division in 1993. He is a 1990 graduate of USC, with a degree in finance and marketing. Lipstone entered the William Morris mailroom in Beverly Hills in 1984 and was promoted to agent in the Television Division in 1987. He is a 1983 graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara, with a degree in business economics. # # #
