Fernando Arau is known for his charisma, quirky sense of humor and his well-rounded talents as a writer, actor, producer and author. He is currently the host of Univision’s "Despierta América," the highest rated morning Spanish-language show in the country and has been on the air for a successful eleven years and counting. He wrote the highly acclaimed book “Cocinando con Dios” and has been awarded the "Estrella de la Calle Ocho" by the Chamber of Commerce of Miami. His one-man, semi-autobiographical show, “El Show de Fernando Arau” debuted to a sold-out crowd at the South Beach Comedy Festival in January 2006. In addition, Fernando was honored by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences with an honorary Spanish EMMY award in 2006.  He will debut his new, one-man show, “El Matrimonio…Una Historia de Ciencia y Fricción" (Matrimony…A Story of Science Friction) at the 2009 South Beach Comedy Festival.
