| ORISHAS is a touchstone of innovative music with multiple Grammy and
Latin Grammy nominations and Platinum sales; their revolutionary fusion of
hip hop and Cuban melodies define them as the pioneers of progressive
Latin urban sound. Though Roldán, Ruzzo and Yotuel were born in Havana,
Cuba, the trio’s international audience grew roots in Europe.
Their first album, A Lo Cubano, is the first hip-hop record in Spain to
achieve Platinum status with over 100,000 copies sold. In addition, this
album went Gold with over 100,000 copies sold in both France and
Switzerland. After the group's follow-up record, Emigrante, ORISHAS
released their third album El Kilo in 2005, which was nominated for both
Grammy and Latin Grammy awards, reached Gold in Switzerland, Portugal
and Spain, and won the Premio de la Música in Spain for "Best Hip Hop
Album".
In 2007 the group launched their fourth album, Antidiótico, which contains
their greatest hits and a few new tracks. Antidiótico received three Latin
Grammy Awards nominations in the "Best Urban Music Album", "Best
Urban Song" and "Best Video" categories, as well as a Latin Grammy award
for "Best Urban Song" for their collaboration with Calle 13 in Pa’l Norte.
